Sonam is a 33 year old electrical engineer, who sustained serious electrical burns to both hands whilst doing some maintenance work on a substation.

He was left with severe hypertrophic scars which limited movement and were starting to act as tourniquet to his hands and vital nerves – which supply sensation and muscles in the hands.

Dr Raja Sabapathy generously supported extensive reconstructive surgery to Sonam's right hand over a four week period at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

Suzanne’s 'Helping Hands in Bhutan Program' charity via the Southern Adelaide Health Institute Inc – Bhutan Fund, supported the costs of his surgery, which has lead to incredible functional improvement.

Sonam is pleased with the outcome and sent photos of him back playing archery recently in Bhutan.
